Term Limits for Congress

Posted 7:59 pm, 06/29/2020

DC was also a swap that was uninhabitable in the summer, getting there was a chore, and overall, it wasn't where people wanted to spend their free time.

When our Constitution was written life expectancy was half what it is today, our founders did not account for that and neglected term limits for congress.

Pointman, I personally would rather we march on the capitol and shoot them all on the steps and start over. The blood stains on the steps could serve to remind the new politicians what can happen if they get out of line again. But your plan might work too

No Hankey, there are not huge differences. I'll give you that socialism can be graduated, but communism is the top of the scale of it. Still, you've failed to comprehend the subject that you decided to dive head first into regarding the village ijiot. Please try to figure that out before you continue to show everyone what a fool you are.

I think I might have the answer to finally achieve term limits for congress. Propose that the current congress people are exempt from the new congressional limits. Then, in a couple of generations the term limits will be in force for the newer lawmakers. The greedy incumbents might go for this.

Fin, you just have to dig your hole of ignorance deeper and deeper and you aint gonna get uot of that hole by dreaming up yourown versions of political ideologies.
Immediately after WWII the UK voted in a socialist government. It nationalized the railways and airlines because they had been subsidized by the taxpayers since well before the war. However, the majority of private enterprises were left to their own devices except for stricter regulations mostly relating to worker safety.
In 1920 when the communists finally took over the Russian Empire they confiscated all private enterprises including the farms. There is a huge difference between the two ideologies. You need to do some serious studying or get away from trying to argue on these subjects.

Seriously Hankey, are you going to try to sell that Marx wasn't a socialist bull****? That's the problem with your type, getting hung up in the minutia to try to defend your failing point. Marx was very much a socialist. He added onto the growing socialist movement at the time with a philosophical approach, dressing up the whole idea to make it more romantic for the "enlightened" at the time. Go blow your smoke up someone else's ***.

And you still didn't bother to read yourself in on the original point anyway. The village ijit was the one that brought up socialism and his wish to have all corporations seized by the government and the CEOs removed. He thinks that if we just keep trying, it will eventually be different and those pigs won't stand up and walk on two legs.

Here we go again with Fin, Marx was not a socialist, he together with Engel developed the ideology of communism. Before you start teaching anyone anything make sure you know the subject thoroughly, fyi if you wish to understand communist ideology you'll find it in "Das Kapital" the book was originally in German but there is an English translation.

In other words, you have no idea yourself, but you're going to listen to a couple of podcasts and then wing it.

Posted 1:49 pm, 06/29/2020

First of all Mr Hankey, I didn't bring up socialism. The village ijit did. And if you had a clue, he's a die hard Marxist socialist because he has never achieved anything on his own.

When you though prove that you can post a cognitive thought and comprehend a reply, I'll teach you about socialism. I'll also correct you on the false ideology that social programs are socialism.

McConnell for example. He hasn't done a dang thing for Kentucky. Hasn't been anything but an obstructionist in Congress yet he carried like 75% or more of the vote in his primary. It's sickening.

Fin's constant usage of socialism as a pejorative is getting a bit tiresome, just like Dog with his Obama bone. First of all Fin has no idea of the true definition of socialism (although I'm sure he'll invent one), he obviously cannot differentiate between socialism and communism. However, he doesn't know the true definition of communism either.
Socialism became a pejorative during the Unamerican Activity's Committee era. Joe McCarthy was so diligent in dancing to the tune of big business; he made anything that seemed threatening to unbridled oppressive capitalism into a pejorative.

In the 5th congressional district, All the REPRESENTATION WE HAVE, all the way to the White House is in the Hands of The Republican Party

That IS an issue, for either party. Congressional approval is at an all-time low, yet somehow 90% of Congressional incumbents keep winning. So it's highly unlikely that our representation will ever really change.

Up until 1804, the Vice Presidency was given to the candidate that lost the election. That makes a lot more sense to me... right now only about 40% of the population is being represented at all! And there's really no one to keep the President in check. But if we were acting as the Founders intended then the entire populace (or at least, most of it) would be represented.

Yeah... let's go with socialism. Then the politicians don't have to be accountable to anyone.

Posted 4:53 pm, 06/28/2020

Maybe I'm looking at "Politics" all Wrong! Let's SEE, The Whole Nation elects "The Prez". THEN, Each State Elects 2 Senators, for a 6 year term, to KEEP an EYE on The Prez. At the same time, Population Density, determines the number of Congressional Reps from each State, every 2 years. N C at present has 13. California, 54. Ever 2 years, WE can Elect a Different representative, to KEEP an EYE on Those Senators! NOW! Here we are. In the 5th congressional district, All the REPRESENTATION WE HAVE, all the way to the White House is in the Hands of The Republican Party! And "YOU" ain't SCARED?

One thing that would fix it big time. You can remove the CEO's influence by removing the CEO. SOCIALISM!

Posted 12:27 pm, 06/28/2020

You fail to understand that you can't control who they associate with in their personal time. You can't stop them from joining the same country clubs or resorts as the Bank of America CEO. You can't stop a pharmaceutical CEO from hosting fundraiser for a Senator and giving all of his buddies access to the senator. I don't know what the fix is, but the solutions presented will be worse than the current system.
