There is no great incentive for people to migrate from countries with sound economies and good safety net programs. Since the antics of extreme right wing groups over the last three decades, the USA have become much less attractive to would be migrants of affluent countries. Trump and his MAGATS have made America even less desirable to would be immigrants from the affluent countries and yes, we can expect to see more and more coming in from impoverished and oppressed nations.
